Under the Hood: Algorand API Technical Architecture
OpsLayer operates clusters of Algorand nodes worldwide to support the API service. To maximize uptime, we utilize load balancers at both the application and node level, which are distributed across multiple availability zones for high availability and fault tolerance. These nodes have dedicated PostgreSQL database backends for each ledger, providing highly performant access to the full Algorand REST API.
All incoming API requests are authenticated, authorized, and checked against account API limits. Requests passing those checks will be routed to an available pool of nodes for processing. The system capacity is managed and increased as necessary to handle the overall request volume. Our dedicated team continuously manages, monitors, and secures the API environment 24×7, guaranteeing its resilience and safeguarding against potential threats.
